   this trail is currently closed under a closure order due to the 2020 medio fire. Monsoon rains have caused flash flooding in the burned area, and the trail is not safe for hikers. With cascading waterfalls and a small mountain stream running along it, the Rio En Medio trail is 6.7 miles long.

   Beautiful hike following the Rio en Medio, Trail 163. You begin at the Santa Fe Ski Basin and follow the creek down 1.5 miles. At that point you cross over the creek and walk uphill for about half a mile along an irrigation ditch. The trail then goes downhill and connects with a forest road at Aspen Ranch trailhead.
