Mar 17, 2020 · Republic Act No. 9994 or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010 (the “Senior Citizen Law”) entitles Filipino residents of least 60 years old to a 20 percent discount and an exemption from the 12 percent value-added tax (VAT) imposed on the sale of services from restaurants (including those in hotels and fast food chains).
Eligible households can receive a discount of up to $30 per month ($75 per month for households on qualifying tribal lands) toward internet service from participating providers. The discount applies to fixed internet service (such as cable internet, DSL, and wi-fi), mobile internet service, or both, depending on the provider.

If you are a Filipino sixty (60) years old and above and a resident of the Philippines, you are a senior citizen. If you have “dual citizenship” and have been residing in the Philippines for at least six (6) months, you are also considered a senior citizen.
