Sep 15, 2022 · Spinal Tap is probably the first summoner item you’ll get in Terraria. You can make it relatively quickly, as soon as you get some Cobweb and Bones from Dungeon. Although not that powerful, it helps you focus on minions’ attacks. The item is especially strong when paired with Obsidian Armor.
May 3, 2022 · Considering spinal tap is the only new whip added with the update and it's the only whip (that I know of) that's acting weird, the other whips should still work fine. It's still a shame since it's such a good weapon.
Oct 13, 2020 · The Spinal Tap whip is a great update. It isn't too hard to craft post-Skeletron and is now the premiere whip for pre-hardmode and should hold you over till you get the Cool Whip, if you don't get the Firecracker from WoF.
May 3, 2022 · The spinal tap is supposed to be better for crowd control because on other whips the damage falls off for every enemy you hit but on spinal tap the damage falls off way slower, obviously it's kinda pointless when you can rarely hit more than 2 enemies at once.
