Theodore William Lange III ( / lændʒ /; born January 5, 1948) is an American actor, director and screenwriter best known for his roles as bartender Isaac Washington in the TV series The Love Boat (1977-1986) and Junior in That's My Mama (1974-1975).
Ted Lange is a graduate of London's Royal Academy with a career as a prolific director, writer, and actor since the 1980's. This classical background as well as his years before the camera have enabled him to become known as an actor's director inspiring not only emotional but also comedic scenes.

Ted Lange is an actor, director, writer and producer who played Isaac Washington on The Love Boat. He is also a graduate of London's Royal Academy and a friend of Gavin MacLeod.

- Gavin MacLeod — Captain Merrill Stubing. When he was cast on The Love Boat, MacLeod had just wrapped up seven years on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. His agent told him The Love Boat script “sucked” but added that Spelling really wanted MacLeod for the part, and the industry-savvy actor recognized it immediately for what it was: a gold mine.

Lange was the 1997 Co-Chairman of the African American Steering Committee for the Directors Guild of America. He was also one of the guiding forces of the Directors Guild Fellowship Program, instituted to develop job opportunities for Women and Ethnic Minorities.
