The Kipper Kids were a duo composed of Martin Rochus Sebastian von Haselberg (born 20 January 1949) and Brian Routh (1948–2018), two artists known for the extreme and often comedic performance art they made together in the 1970s and after.
Von Haselberg starred as part of ‘The Kipper Kids,’ along with Routh, in the 1980-released American musical fantasy–comedy film ‘Forbidden Zone.’ ‘The Kipper Kids’ also appeared in the 1989 American comedy film ‘UHF’ (as themselves) that released internationally as ‘The Vidiot from UHF.’

Jul 22, 2020 · I had been the Los Angeles correspondent for the Italian newsweekly L’Europeo since 1976, so I proposed to write and photograph a story about the Kipper Kids, and invited Martin, Brian and Anne for a photo session in my studio. It was an electrifying and creative day.
After inventing the character of Harry Kipper with Martin Von Haselberg on an acid trip in Frankfurt, they developed the iconic Kipper Kids. Routh embarked on solo work primarily in the mid-1970s. Von Haselberg and Routh reunited in 1977 to appear as the Kipper Kids in a film by Richard Elfman called Forbidden Zone , which was released in 1982. [7]
