The Ron Clark Academy (RCA) is a highly-acclaimed, nonprofit middle school located in Southeast Atlanta. The Academy has received both national and international recognition for its success for creating a loving, dynamic learning environment that promotes academic excellence and fosters leadership.
The Ron Clark Academy is a non-profit middle school, housed in a renovated red brick warehouse located in southeast Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Founded by its namesake, Ron Clark, and co-founder Kim Bearden, the school has students in fourth through eighth grades, from a wide range of economic backgrounds. Classes began on September 4, 2007.
Founder and Mathematics Teacher. Mr. Clark has been called “America’s Educator.”. In 2000, he was named Disney’s American Teacher of the Year. He is a New York Times bestselling author whose book, The Essential 55, has sold over 1 million copies and has been published in 25 different countries.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. Over 80,000 educators have visited RCA to observe our classrooms and attend our workshops to learn better ways to promote student engagement, increase academic rigor, and create a climate and culture that promotes student success.
Thirty-two sixth grade students and twenty- eight fifth grade students with varying strengths and challenges were selected. On September 4, 2007, a high school marching band, drum line, and color guard joined us as we welcomed the inaugural class of the Ron Clark Academy.
