The Ventures are an American instrumental rock band formed in Tacoma, Washington, in 1958, by Don Wilson and Bob Bogle. The band, which was a quartet for most of its existence, helped to popularize the electric guitar across the world during the 1960s. [1] .
In 1958, Bob Bogle and Don Wilson formed the nucleus of the original music group, The Ventures. The duo was joined a few years later by Nokie Edwards to record “Walk, Don’t Run”. The song hit Billboard’s Singles Chart on July 18, 1960 and peaked at #2. The rest, as they say, is history.
