Tozen Union is a union that fights for workers' rights and equality regardless of background. It was founded in 1956 and became the first amalgamated union in Japan led by foreigners in 2010.
Zenkoku Ippan Tokyo General Union (Tozen Union, 東ゼン労組) is as its name suggests, a union which does not restrict membership to those working in any one industry, trade or workplace. The union traces its origins back to 1956; almost as long as the history of legalized organized labour in Japan.
Zenkoku Ippan Tokyo General Union (全国一般東京ゼネラルユニオン), or Tozen Union (東ゼン労組), is a Japanese labour union. It was founded on April 25, 2010, by Louis Carlet, Tony Dolan, and David Ashton.
Tozen Union is a democratic union with 30 local chapters of workers at various companies or industries. Members pay dues, attend meetings, and elect representatives to negotiate with management.
