Woodruff's is a bar and live music venue in Ypsilanti's Depot Town. It opened in late 2010, when the closure of Savoy left manager Andy Garris out of a venue, just a month before that year's Mittenfest music festival. As of late 2011, with downtown's venues still mostly closed and awaiting new ownership, Woodruff's is the Ypsilanti venue.

I had gotten an invitation on Facebook to a show being presented by Wax Kings, a DJ collective from the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area. I walked in and heard hip hop being played. I like hip hop, even consider myself an MC, so I was all about it.
