A skilled violinist, he appeared in many film, stage and television roles including appearances in Hi Gang! (1941), I'll Be Your Sweetheart (1945) and the TV series Hotel Imperial (1958). As a musician he made many TV and stage performances and was famed for playing the violin (purposely) badly.
