The Fog. The problem is with the fog. It must have seemed like an inspired idea to make a horror movie in which clouds of fog would be the menace, but the idea just doesn't work out in "The Fog," John Carpenter's first thriller since " Halloween ." The movie's made with style and energy, but it needs a better villain.

Surprisingly, bloodshed is at a minimum, and there are only a couple of deaths in the entire film, eschewing HALLOWEEN's incessant body-count fatality. Instead, THE FOG is a slow-moving, subtle and creepy ghost story, well played and very well directed. 9/10. A First Rate Ghost Film.
The descendant Nick Castle (Tom Welling) owns the Castle & Son, a fishing charter company, using his vessel Seagrass for tourism in the Antonio Bay. When his girlfriend Elizabeth Williams (Maggie Grace) returns to the island, coincidently a huge fog appears with weird noises and killing locals.
