Caroline Patricia Lucas (born 9 December 1960) [1] is a British politician who was the leader of the Green Party of England and Wales from 2003 to 2006, 2007 to 2012, and 2016 to 2018. She was Member of Parliament (MP) for Brighton Pavilion from 2010 to 2024.

Caroline Lucas is the Green Party parliamentary candidate for Brighton Pavilion. She was elected as the UK's first Green Member of Parliament in 2010.
She served as leader of the Green Party of England and Wales from 2008 to 2012, and Co-leader from 2016 to 2018. From 1999-2010 she served as one of the Party's first MEPs and represented the South East region until becoming the UK's first Green MP.
Since 2010, when she became the first Green Party MP, she has stood alone in the Commons, becoming the face of green politics in Britain. “For 14 years I’ve been a party of one,” she says. Now she is leaving Westminster.
