   Captain Planet has a reputation for being preachy and moralistic, and as such, corny. But when I watched this show during its earlier seasons (before it DID become preachy at the expense of story), I really enjoyed it.

   • A lot of Australian children born in the late '80s to very early 1990s will fondly remember watching Captain Planet. Not only was it on the free-to-air channel The ABC, but it was in a perfect timeslot with popular shows on either side of it. Sadly, to the despair of several viewers, the ABC no longer has broadcasting rights.
