Unorthodox is a German drama television miniseries that debuted on Netflix on March 26, 2020. The first Netflix series to be primarily in Yiddish, it is inspired by Deborah Feldman's 2012 autobiography, Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots.
Unorthodox is a drama series based on a true story of a young ultra-Orthodox Jewish woman who flees her arranged marriage and religious community in Brooklyn for Berlin. The series explores her identity, independence and self-discovery, and features Shira Haas, Amit Rahav and Jeff Wilbusch as the main cast.
