When Ruby Baker's parents are killed in a car accident, she and her brother, Rhett, must travel to Malibu, to live with Terrence and Erin Glass, their former neighbors.
Orphaned when their parents are killed in an automobile accident, Ruby (16) and Rhett (11) are placed under the guardianship of longtime friends named Gary & Erin Glass. The successful and childless couple at first welcome and console the kids but their attitudes change with the passing of time.
