A Special Use Permit is required to camp, hunt, fish, or operate an ATV on Dale Bumpers White River NWR. A WMA General Use Permit is required for persons 16 years and older to hunt or trap on any WMA.
When you pay for the user permit, get the brochure: camping dates and availability change with seasons and water flows. There are two established trails open year round on the refuge, both accessed from the visitor center area.

Dale Bumpers White River National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1935 for the protection of migratory birds. The refuge lies in the floodplain of the White River near where it meets the mighty Mississippi River.
