Nov 23, 2017 · Below are three options: Option 1 (by car/taxi): Drive to Philosophenweg and park and then start the walk. This is the easiest way as it is quicker and avoids the trek up the steep hill after crossing the Neckar. When driving, Philosophenweg (which is an actual street before it becomes a pedestrian only path) intersects with Bergstrasse.
Alternatively you can get there by starting on the other (west) end of the Philosophers Way. Walk to the corner of Philosophenweg @ BergStrasse, and enjoy the leisurely incline up the Philosophers Way. To find that starting point, Bergstrasse dead ends onto Uferstraße near the Theodor-Heuss-Brücke.

The Philosophers Way can either start at the corner of the streets, Philosophenweg and Bergstraße, or at the opposite end, you can reach it up the steep Schlangenweg (Snake Path) which starts at the Alte Brücke (Old Bridge) across the Neckar River from the Old Town.
Jul 5, 2019 · Getting to the Philosophers Way. This hike takes you across the Neckar River from Heidelberg’s old town. You can drive to the start of this trail as it starts at the end of a road the same name. We walked all the way there from the train station. However, I would recommend taking a taxi to the start of the path.
