- Like a comic bit that takes its time to unfurl, this movie requires commitment: It doesn't so much punch as dwell, with its quirky, interesting humor making itself known -- and felt -- by the minute. As such, Punching Henry is an acquired taste.

User Reviews. Punching Henry is an intelligent comedy. Unlike most comedies out there that rely on cursing, disgust, or slapstick, this movie has a brain. I won't get into any plot details but it is clear that many of the scenes are inspired by real-world events. The film has plausibility and never seems contrived.
Glum but smart comedy has some mature material. Read Common Sense Media's Punching Henry review, age rating, and parents guide.
