  4. Divergent is middling YA, not the worst I've read but not particularly good. [I'm not disparaging YA at all, I read a lot of it.] It's not really anything like The Hunger Games. Their only comparison to the HG is that they are a YA post apocalyptic dystopian with a female lead that is written in the first person.

    • It is a Page Turner. One of the best reasons to read “Divergent” is that it is a page turner. I love books that keep you interested. The action does not stop.
    • It Has Twists and Turns. “Divergent” has so many twists and turns that your mind will be swirling to keep up but in a very good way. There were times I actually laid the book down for a minute so that I could think about all of the action and how it fit together.
    • You Won’t Want to Put It down. I love a book that you don’t want to put down. And it had been a long while since I had read one that good. “Divergent” was a can’t put down read for me.
    • It Draws You in. This story draws you in. You find yourself thinking about it even when you are not reading it. I wondered what the characters would do next and how they would handle situations that came their way.
