In the 1950s Hollywood tradition, an alien spaceship landed on Earth, and then was surrounded fearfully by military troops. "Planet 51" is true to the tradition, but this time, the ship comes from Earth, and it lands on a planet inhabited by little green men.

Many times when an animated movie such as Planet 51 comes out like this one in a month that is not the prime summer movie months, it typically doesn't do too well at the box office. Like similar movies of this platform, this movie didn't reach the top 3 over any weekend.
Planet 51 is no instant classic, but it does rate as a pleasant diversion, a kind of bridge on connecting holiday blockbusters with movies you can take the kids to. Full Review | Jan 23, 2018
