Jul 13, 2009 · The Towering Inferno comes to Blu-ray disc in a transfer that looks to my eyes like a spruced up version of the 2006 Special Edition DVD. My guess? The film was transfered in HD with an eye towards creating the finest DVD presentation possible at the time and the potential of having a master to use for later mediums.
