Longview, city, seat (1871) of Gregg county and partly in Harrison county, eastern Texas, U.S. It is situated near the Sabine River, 65 miles (105 km) west of Shreveport, Louisiana, and is the centre of a metropolitan and industrial area that includes Marshall and Kilgore.

Longview is the county seat of Gregg County and is located on the U.S. Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 80 corridor that stretches from Dallas/Fort Worth through Shreveport/Bossier City, La., Dallas lies 125 miles west of Longview, and Shreveport is 60 miles east.
Longview is now home to more than 75,000 residents and has grown to be an important center of commerce and industry for the Piney Woods region of Texas. Get in. Longview is easily accessed by auto, lying just north of Interstate 20 and along US Highway 80, and Texas Highway 31. There is a bus station downtown, which is serviced by Greyhound Lines.
