There are 16 federal states in Germany, including three city-states, Berlin, Hamburg and Bremen. They each have a Parliament (Landtag), a constitution and a government, which is headed up by a Minister-President.
In Berlin, it is called "Abgeordnetenhaus" or "House of Representatives", and in all other federal states it is known as "Landtag". In Municipal Elections ("Kommunalwahl") , people elect political representatives for the local councils and town councils, as well as mayors and district administrators.
