Television host, writer, producer, comedian and actor Steve Harvey and his wife Marjorie have finalized the purchase of the 1581-acre The Rock Ranch and will reopen it in the near future. The sale, which has long been rumored, was finalized this week.
May 25, 2022 · The Rock Ranch was established in 1989 by Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy. The Harveys have renamed the 1,600-acre property Legacy Ranch, and will conduct separate camps for male and female youth ages 13 to 18.
The Rock Ranch, a 1,500-acre agritourism destination is great for family fun, field trips, corporate events, or primitive camping. The working cattle ranch, founded by the late S. Truett Cathy, is dedicated to Growing Healthy Families, and boasts more than 35 spectacular attractions!

Rockland Ranch (also known as "The Rock") is a fundamentalist Mormon, polygamous community in Moab, Utah. [1] . The community was founded in 1977 by Robert Dean Foster (d. 2008 [1]) as a place for fundamentalist Mormons to live and practice plural marriage out of the public eye. [2] .

Tour the grounds by locomotive! Ride through the acreage and see the covered bridge, the zip line course, crops, animals, and plenty of pretty greenery.
Animal adventures are on site. Kids can go for a guided pony ride and visit the petting zoo, where goats, donkeys and other farm animals are happy to say hi.
Ride around The Rock Ranch on land or water! Race a pedal cart individually on a paved course filled with bends and turns or take a family cart for a multi-rider drive. Or, take a pedal boat out with a partner on the lake.
One of the most popular attractions for kids is a miniature town replica. Walk down the main street and step inside small-scale versions of a firehouse, bank, courthouse, automotive repair shop, church, clothing store and more. There’s even a movie theater and town jail; all are air-conditioned.
Choose between two zip line options. Race over the cornfields on a faster, lower zip course. A taller, longer route charges through the pine trees and over the lake.
A recent addition, the hand-painted carousel, offers unlimited rides for one price. The corn bin, like a giant ball pit, is filled with corn kernels for a unique sensory play experience.
Throughout the year, The Rock Ranch hosts major special events like a Strawberry Festival, Country Christmas Nights and a patriotic Celebrate America festival. One of the most popular is Pumpkin Destruction Day in November, when jack-o-lanterns and old pumpkins get squashed with much fanfare. Check the calendar of events for dates and details.
Outdoor dining options are plentiful at the Ranch. Smoked meats, burgers, fried pickles, fried pies and other Southern treats are on the menu, which changes seasonally.
Reserve a campfire sitefor a group of 20 or fewer to have a special evening activity. Sites include two picnic tables, a fire ring, and fire wood. Families with reservations can bring food to cook and eat by the fire.
Keep the fun going overnight with a pioneer-style camp-outin a Conestoga wagon! Each wagon has bunk beds for eight, and campsites include firewood and lanterns, water for washing and drinking, port-a-potties and picnic tables.
