  2. The best places to live in Frankfurt. Frankfurt is a vibrant cosmopolitan city that attracts expats from all over Europe and the world. One of the biggest decisions facing new arrivals is where to live.

    • Innenstadt. Best for: Enjoying the the center of the city, being close to the Alstadt, and living like a long-term tourist. Innenstadt (which translates to ‘downtown’) is the very heart of the city, and its most busy district by far.
