Chambers was born on June 4, 1976 in Mt. Gambier, New South Wales, Australia. Her father, Bill Chambers, was a steel guitar player as was her mother Diane. When she was three months old, Kasey and her three-year-old brother Nash moved with their parents to the Nullarbor Plain, in Central Australia.
