Nov 15, 2023 · Earl was 34 years old at the time. Thirteen years later, in 1940, Earl was named as the first Vice President of Styling at General Motors. Earl retired in 1958 and died in 1969. He was influenced after World War II watching Jaguars and MG’s run road-racing courses like Watkins Glen.
