The killer Alien that roams the Sevastopol in Alien: Isolation is by far the most menacing enemy in the game. There is no way to defeat this enemy, so you're constantly forced to outwit and escape the grasp of this beast. There are many different strategies and ways to go about doing this, and we've collected some of the most effective tips to help you get through -- read them below or watch the video above.

Is an Alien drawing near? Or do you want the Alien to move to a specific location at your command? If so, get yourself an item like a Noisemaker or an EMP Mine and toss it in the direction you want the Alien to go. As the Alien makes its way over to the noise, make your escape! Make sure not cross paths.

Take note of the gas canisters laying around some of the rooms. Shoot them to create an explosion to attract the Alien.

Stunning the Alien with one of your weapons is also an effective way to buy you some time. If you have a Molotov or an EMP Mine, throw it directly at the Alien to hurt it. Of course, there is no way to kill the Alien, but this is still a helpful resource.

Just like you used the gas canisters to attract the Alien, you can also use them to hurt the Alien and have it run off.

This may seem a little dark, but while the Alien is hunting down and munching on your fellow survivors, this makes for ample time to make a getaway. But don't take this to mean you can run. The Alien will still hear you and go after you next.

As you probably have learned very quickly, hiding is a very effective way to avoid detection by the Alien. When you see the Alien approaching on your Motion Detector, hop into a locker or crouch behind a desk or a crate. The Alien has trouble finding you if you stand still, so just wait for it pass before moving again. Don't forget you can also crawl under desks.

If you're playing on lower difficulty settings, don't be afraid to try crouching and sitting still in an area where the Alien can directly see you. Most of the time, the Alien won't notice.

It might seem obvious, but it's still worth mentioning that the Motion Detector is the best tool to use to ensure survival. Knowing where your enemy is, especially the Alien, is key to your success. If your radar drops below .60, time to look for a hiding spot. Stay put until the Alien has left the room and the distance on the Motion Detector is .90 or higher.

Do keep in mind that the Motion Detector is not always accurate and can sometimes be unreliable. If the Alien seems to sit in the same position or directly below or beside you, try to move anyway. You might notice that the Alien will appear in places that wouldn't make sense given the Alien's previous location. Keep this in mind as you make your way through the game.

When you pick up the Flamethrower in Mission 10, getting away from the Alien is a lot easier. If the Alien sees you, whip out your Flamethrower and give it a blast of fire. This will cause it to run off of and scamper, but only for a short time. Now when the Alien sees you, it does not mean an instant death.

  7. Truth. I was trying to modify something on the super revolver mod (trying to stop the dumb float out of bounds bug) and began messing with the alien's health on a lark. By default it's 16000 and the super revolver does incideniary damage and takes 10000 from the alien.
