Kidder died on May 13, 2018, at her home in Livingston, Montana, at the age of 69. Kidder's death was ruled a suicide by "self-inflicted drug and alcohol overdose". Kidder had been scheduled to appear at the Motor City Comic Con event in Novi, Michigan, later that week.
