Oct 1, 2023 · Fresh off their FCS National Championship in 2020, the Sam Houston Bearkats have now leaped to the big time, joining the FBS for the 2023 season. Though smaller than many D1 football venues, Bowers Stadium offers a great atmosphere for college football, with an almost blinding amount of Bearkats orange on hand.
The Bowers campus includes 100,000 square feet of space surrounded by lush gardens, including a 296-seat auditorium, 12,000 square feet of event space, a Patina-owned Tangata restaurant, a robust gallery store, eight permanent exhibitions and spectacular featured exhibits on rotation so that each visit will be new and engaging.
