The ferry trip from Bantry town offer you wonderful views of Bantry House and Gardens from the water. While you’re on the island, you can hire a bike, walk the waymarked trails, or visit the two lakes where there are opportunities for keen anglers and birdwatchers.
Start planning your visit to Whiddy Island, which is just a short ferry ride from the harbour town of Bantry in West Cork. There is car parking at the main Bantry marina, which is just a minute or two’s walk from Bantry town.

Nov 10, 2017 · The trip across Bantry Bay takes about 20 minutes and gives you a stunning view of Bantry House (weather dependent). From the Whiddy Island Trailhead set out along the road. At the T-junction take a left. There is a finger post sign there, take the Tranaha option.

A beautiful island reached from Bantry by a 15 minute ferry ride. Great walks, followed by a drink and food in the Bank House bar. Kathleen and Tim are great hosts and a "mine of information". Overnight stays can be booked at the nearby hostel.
