Jagged Alliance 2 features easily the best cRPG user interface ever made in regard to functionality, efficiency and aesthetics. Laptop, Strategy and Tactical UI s ooze human intelligence. These devs were TRU gamers. Seemingly, these sorts of devs are extinct.
JA 3 is a good , solid game. But honestly - I didn't feel it. J.A. 2 was great in its day, but right now there is an abundance of games with tactical combat. So I feel it does not stand out anymore as part 2 did in the past and personally I think BG 3 even had better combat.

JA3 is pretty good, but I highly recommend picking up the mod that adds hit percentages. It's made by the developers, so they clearly understood that it would be desired, but for some reason it did not ship with the base game.

Apr 12, 2021 · In Jagged Alliance it's a lot more nuanced, because the map's terrain plays way more complex role than "bonus/penalty to attack/defense". There is stealth option, so you can set up an ambush (it gets even better when at night and have night vision googles and silencers equipped).
