Sep 21, 2009 · Posts: 80. Sandymount is supposed to be a nice enough area. It's pretty safe anyway, and I know everyone is saying it's dead, but I used to live out in Dun Laoghaire and I have to say that everywhere but the city or your own student pub is dead usually. The good thing about sandymount is the dart!
Not the busiest place for a young person but definitely not sleepy. Sandymount is lovely to live in and has good public transport into the city for nights out. Loads or bars and restaurants around sandymount/bath Avenue, Irishtown, Ringsend, and Ballsbridge. You really can't go wrong with the area.

Cobblers Wardrobe is a pre-loved designer boutique and shoe/handbag repair service for Isaac Jackman Shoe Repairs. Owner Hollie Creedon welcomes all kinds of unworn or gently used designer, vintage and unique pieces. Her stock is ever changing so you’ll be sure to find something different every time you visit. (Note: Hollie also rents headpieces by Irish Milliner, Meg Halligan, and offers a shoe repairs service)

The extensive Sandymount Strand, which is part of the South Bull, (a mirror to the North Bull sandbank, which grew into North Bull Island ), is a major component of the south side of Dublin Bay. The strand runs from the curve of the bay at Ringsend to Merrion Gates. Sandymount Strand is a popular place for locals to take a walk.
