I see there are only positive reviews here, so I'll offer my experience. For whatever reason Dark Sky is always way off in my city, Jacksonville, FL. I've kept it on my phone for years because I feel like the radar and forecasts are good, but as far as the minute by minute rain tracking it seriously has issues around here.
Jun 19, 2020 · Although the Dark Sky weather app became part of the Apple universe on March 31, 2020, it’s currently ranked the #1 weather app on iTunes, with an average rating of 4.7 stars based on more than 120,000 customer reviews. Many even state that Dark Sky is the best weather app around.
Its accuracy varies by location. For me, it's always been accurate and the "rain in 5 minutes" notifications are always spot on. Personally I use Carrot Weather primarily, but still get the rain notifications from Dark Sky. I use Weather Underground, love it.
Although ostensibly dark sky is using the same back-end; there appear to be some differences between the forecast.io site and the API. I made a test app with the API and noticed that forecast.io has more detailed and more accurate descriptions for the current conditions.
