It was a slice-of-life movie about living day-by-day, and staying true to yourself, even when crap hits the fan. The writing was surprisingly funny and heartfelt. The chemistry between Chris Tucker and Ice Cube was really believable and convincing. The characters felt so real, and I was so convinced these characters were based off of real people.
