As far as indie rock bands go, they're rather iconic. Today is the Day is one of my favorite songs of all time. So beautiful. I have an indie/pop-rock playlist that I update regularly, with many songs from new lesser-known bands and artists. Here's a link if you wanna check it out.

While I love a lot of genres, indie rock for the last 30 years would be what I have listened to the most. These are the best bands (in my opinion) and I highly suggest/recommend. I will mention specific albums when appropriate.
