Minden is a small city and the parish seat of Webster Parish, Louisiana, United States.It is located twenty-eight miles east of Shreveport.As of the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 11,928. The Main Street district of Minden is recognized as a Louisiana Main Street Community, a Louisiana Cultural Products District, and is sited on the National Register of Historic Places.

Minden, the parish seat of Webster Parish and the fifth-largest city in Northern Louisiana, has a healthy dose of both city and country attributes.
Minden’s Historic Main Street Districts attract history and architecture buffs as well as shoppers and diners. Minden has maintained much of its historic integrity, including its early 1900’s brick Main Street, beautiful parks and sidewalk benches reminiscent of years past.
History of Minden. In 1835, Charles Veeder built an inn on a hilltop a few miles from Bayou Dorcheat. By 1837, he had laid out a town in the shape of a parallelogram. He named the settlement Minden, after the home of his ancestors in Germany.
With its distinctive red-bricked Main Street lined with shops, banks and churches, old-time charm pervades downtown Minden. History buffs will find plenty to explore in Minden's historic districts with their antebellum and Victorian-era homes--- or at Minden Cemetery, which includes soldiers' graves from Civil War battles fought nearby.
