Wolfsburg (German: [ˈvɔlfsbʊʁk] ⓘ; Eastphalian: Wulfsborg) is the fifth largest city in the German state of Lower Saxony, located on the river Aller. It lies about 75 km (47 mi) east of Hanover and 230 km (143 mi) west of Berlin .

Since 1945, the town has borne the name "Wolfsburg". Embedded in two large landscapes, the Harz Mountains in the south and the Lüneburg Heath in the northwest, a modern and cosmopolitan city was created in only two generations, in which more than 125,000 inhabitants live today.
Wolfsburg's other major attraction is the Autostadt, the automotive exhibition complex and centre of excellence opened by Volkswagen AG in a 25-hectare space of parkland and lakes.
Unlike any other city of its size, Wolfsburg offers numerous great leisure activities for city travellers who want to spend a couple of days here. Nestled between the Harz Mountains in the south and the Lüneburg Heath in the north-west, Wolfsburg has a great deal to offer.
