- Will Ferrell - Reggie. Will Ferrell headlines the Strays cast as the titular stray Reggie. Reggie is a glass-half-full Border Terrier who (after he is left behind by his owner Doug) has his reality shattered as he realizes maybe Doug was not the best human and maybe it is time he gets his revenge.
- Jamie Foxx - Bug. Bug (played by Oscar-winner Jaime Foxx) is Reggie's guide to the real world of being a stray pup. This bad-mouthing Boston Terrier is partially responsible for Reggie's come-to-Jesus moment, as he makes the optimistic border collie realize he was in a toxic relationship and owners are for suckers.
- Will Forte - Doug. Will Forte plays the role of Doug in Strays. A lowlife owner who leaves his Border Terrier, Reggie, out in the streets of the city, abandoning his canine companion after not reciprocating the love Reggie has provided to him for years.
- Isla Fisher - Maggie. Isla Fisher lends her voice to the smart and snarky Australian Shepard, Maggie. Maggie is another dog that has been forced out onto the streets, joining Bug's crew after she was sidelined by her owner's new puppy.
- Will Ferrell as Reggie. Reggie is a Border Terrier who loves just about everything in his life, especially his owner Doug (Forte). Unfortunately, it's blind love, because Doug is a neglectful owner who is constantly trying to get rid of Reggie.
- Jamie Foxx as Bug. Bug is a Boston Terrier stray that shows Reggie the ropes and all the amazing things that can come from being a stray. Bug is suspicious of humans, so he is up for helping Reggie out with his plan.
- Isla Fisher as Maggie. While Australian Shepherd Maggie is not a stray, she often sneaks away from her owner to hang out with Bug, Reggie and Hunter. Her keen sense of smell (even compared to other dogs) is a big help on their journey.
- Randall Park as Hunter. Hunter is a Great Dane who was formerly in training to be a police dog, but now works as a therapy dog in a retirement center. He's a bit nervous and wears a cone, but he still enjoys hanging out with Bug, Reggie and Maggie on their adventures.
- Reggie (Will Ferrell) Reggie is a curious canine who is far more loyal to his owner Doug than Doug is to him. Ferrell is known for his run on “Saturday Night Live” and a slew of comedies, including “Elf,” “Anchorman” and “Blades of Glory.”
- Bug (voiced by Jamie Foxx) Bug rescues Reggie from bullies and teaches him how to survive as a stray. Jamie Foxx starred in the sketch comedy show “In Living Color.”
- Hunter (voiced by: Randall Park) Hunter is a Great Dane who one trained as a police dog. He wears a protective cone. He has feelings for Maggie. Randall Park previously starred in the sitcom “Fresh Off the Boat.”
- Maggie (Voiced by: Isla Fisher) An Australian Shepard with an incredible sense of smell that helps Reggie find his way home. Aussie actress Isla Fisher got her big break in the popular soap “Home and Away” before starring in movies including “Wedding Crashers” and “Confessions of a Shopaholic.”
