BECOMING a central bank governor was never a dream he had as a child. Like any typical smart kid, Amando M. Tetangco Jr. wanted to become either a medical doctor or a lawyer.
Mr. Tetangco is the third Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and served for two consecutive 6-year terms from July 2005 to July 2017. Under his leadership, the BSP initiated bank regulatory reforms such as risk management, capitalization increase and asset quality, among others.
