  7. Zachris Topelius (1818–1898) was a prolific and erudite writer, journalist, historian, professor of Finnish history and vice-chancellor of the Helsinki University. Religious and patriotic, Topelius also became known as satusetä Topelius (‘the fairy-tale uncle Topelius’), due to the hugely popular collections of stories he wrote for children.
