On May 26, 2022, it was revealed that the role would temporarily be recast with actor Brad Schmidt while Wactor was unavailable. Schmidt appeared as Brando from June 7 to June 9, 2022.

On June 23, 2022, Wactor said he was back as Schmidt has left the role. Wactor returned as Brando on June 27, 2022.

On September 11, 2022, Soap Dirt reported a rumor that Brando might be killed off and Wactor could be exiting GH during the week of September 19, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Brando Corbin was first mentioned on June 25, 2019 by Mike Corbin. Mike mixes up Dev Cerci with Brando, the son of Mike's cousin Gladys. He says Brando's father was some deadbeat who never married Gladys and he didn't stick around.

Sonny Corinthos gets the idea to pass off Dev as Brando's son, “Devin Corbin”. Sonny tries to pay off Gladys to claim that her son Brando had a fictional wife who he married in Iraq and brought back to the U.S. where his wife died giving birth to Dev. Gladys argues that Brando died during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq in 2003 and he didn't have any kids. After Sonny offers her more money, Gladys agrees to the deal.

On January 30, 2020, Brando was revealed to be alive and he saved Carly Corinthos from an ambush by Cyrus Renault's men, but he got shot in the process. It was later revealed that Gladys knew he was alive all along and claimed that he was dead since they had a fight over him being mixed up with some bad people.

On September 14, 2022, Brando was stabbed by a mysterious killer using a hook. Although he eventually woke up in the hospital, he coughed up blood and had a fatal seizure which led to his death.

On January 30, 2020, it is revealed that Brando is alive and he was disguised as one of Sonny's warehouse men. He is shot during a gunfight in Sonny's coffee warehouse while protecting Carly. Sonny's warehouse man Tony tells Carly that the man who saved her doesn't work for Sonny. Then Gladys comes out of hiding and recognizes her son Brando.

On January 31, as Brando recovers from his wound at General Hospital, Carly finds a picture of Gladys and Dev within Brando's belongings. On February 3, Carly tells Sonny about the picture. Gladys is questioned by Sonny and she explained that Brando was dead to her since he had gotten involved with some bad people. Brando tells Sonny that he got in a big fight with Gladys and left Bridgeport. He followed Gladys on her MyFace page and she mentioned that she was staying with Mike's son Sonny. Brando saw the Christmas picture of Gladys and her ‘grandson' Dev online. Sonny threatens Gladys about telling Brando that Dev is being passed off as his son. Later Brando asks Gladys who the boy in the picture is and she tells him Dev is his son.

Sonny gives Brando a job as a car mechanic in Johnny's old garage Xtreme Motors. His first customer is Harmony and the next one is Molly, whom he then had a one night stand with. Cyrus Renault stops by to talk to Brando about working for him and another customer Jason Morgan needs repairs on his motorcycle. After getting his bike fixed, Jason gets into an accident. Brando is blamed but it was later revealed that Cyrus was behind the accident.

Since Brando turned down Cyrus' offer to work for him, Cyrus sent two men to Brando's garage. One was Cyrus' henchman who had just sabotaged Jason's motorcycle and the other henchman was named Tommy Cordero. They took turns holding back Brando as the other one punched him in the stomach.

Tommy grabbed a wrench to finish off Brando but he is stopped by the saboteur who heard someone heading towards the garage. Tommy dropped the wrench and both men ran off before they were caught.

Spinelli had planted a camera in the garage earlier while pretending to need Brando's help. He witnessed the attack on camera along with Jason and Sam who went to bring Brando to the hospital.
