Jun 20, 2017 · It changed us in a good way – we have more money for development now! Before the revival, Thorens sold a little under half its products at its entry-level. Today it’s closer to 75%. I did see this, but we still don’t compete head on with the likes of Pro-Ject in this market.

Today, aged 137, Thorens has a number of decks in circulation, including the TD 1600 and TD 1601, which are based on the classic TD 160 design.
However, this was by no means the end of the story: Swiss businessman Heinz Rohrer acquired the rights to the name, and soon newly developed turntables appeared under the famous name – including the 900 models with sub-chassis adjustable by air chamber.
