RaskolNicky. • 2 yr. ago. I always liked to assume that Freyr and Surtr had a mutual kill similar to Loki and Heimdall. It makes the poem about him and Gerd more romantic imo. Like, he could've lived forever if he had kept his sword, but ultimately decided it wasn't worth it if he had to be alone.
