Noriyuki "Pat" Morita (June 28, 1932 – November 24, 2005) was an American actor and comedian. He began his career as a stand-up comedian, before becoming known to television audiences for his recurring role as diner owner Matsuo "Arnold" Takahashi on the sitcom series Happy Days (1975-83).
Pat Morita is well known for his role as Arnold on ABC-TV's Happy Days and his role as Mr. Miyagi in 'Karate Kid films with Ralph Macchio, then Hilary Swank.

4 days ago · In 1975 he began acting on the sitcom Happy Days, playing malt-shop owner Matsuo (“Arnold”) Takahashi. It was arguably his best-known TV role, and he stayed with the series on and off through 1983.
Pat Morita, who played Arnold, made his final appearance on the first episode of the season; while Al Molinaro, who played Al, returned for the series finale. The season began filming in May 1983 and ended in November of that year.
