Review by Todd Gaines ★★★★½ 7. While watching Fritz Lang's The Big Heat, I realized a lot of cool aspects about what makes it such a special film-noir. Glenn Ford is insane as a cop out for revenge. Gloria Grahame is in most ways a femme fatale, yet she's not poison to Glenn Ford. Lee Marvin is running around throwing coffee on dames.
Synopsis. Police Sergeant Dave Bannion is investigating the apparent suicide of a corrupt cop, then is suddenly ordered to stop. Driven to unravel the mystery, Bannion continues probing—and is soon on a single-handed collision course with a powerful underworld led by Mike Lagana and his cold-blooded henchman.
