Mar 8, 2024 · Mother Cabrini was 38 when she arrived in New York City on March 31, 1889 (only two years older than actress Cristiana Dell'Anna was at the time of filming the movie). As seen in the film, she arrived with six other nuns. Cabrini became an American citizen twenty years later in 1909, taking the oath of U.S. citizenship in Seattle.
