The surprise of "Miracle Run" for me was the sweet romance between Mary-Louise Parker's character and a laid-back hippie plumber, played with lots of charm by Aiden Quinn. So although the plot arc for the two autistic boys was pleasant, it was expected.
"Miracle Run" does make note of the remarkable abilities of its protagonists, something alluded to at the very beginning by Phillip watching a Superman cartoon.
