The Memorial plaza also includes one Callery pear tree. In October 2001, recovery workers discovered the severely damaged tree at Ground Zero.

The World Trade Center contained almost 10 million square feet of rentable office space. This size equaled nearly three Disneyland Parks.
The 9/11 Memorial is free and open to the public seven days a week, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Outdoor Memorial audio guides are available for purchase on site. Prices listed include all service fees. Museum tickets can be purchased up to six months in advance and include entry to all available exhibitions. Last admission is 90 minutes prior to closing.
Sep 11, 2012 · Created the September 11th Initiative to collect and record remembrance interviews for each of the 2,983 victims of the September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993 attacks. Shares oral histories from survivors, rescue workers, witnesses, service providers, and others and facilitates oral history recording days in the 9/11 Memorial Museum.
On September 11, 2011—the tenth anniversary of the attacks—the memorial opened to 9/11 family members, and the following day it opened to the public. Since leaving public office, Bloomberg has continued to serve as chairman of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and remained deeply involved in the work to open the Museum in May 2014.
