Jaw-dropping prologue has intense violence. Dune (2021) is a beautiful film following a dystopian world and its inhabitants relying on “the spice” the universes most important substance and natural resource crucial for space travel. Throughout, expect knife violence which can get bloody at times.
The influence of Machiavelli, and particularly his writing on Cesare Borgia, are apparent throughout. Fingers crossed that the second part course-corrects and we end up with a quality five-hour saga. Because I have no problem if Part 1 doesn’t work on its own, as long as it works when paired with Part 2.
